Different things affect us in different ways with age, especially if years have passed between experiences. Or sometimes you just grow up and realized how vivid your imagination was, like when the monster under your bed scared you when you were a kid.
I remember when I was 9/10, I'd watch So Weird, late at night and I had no problem sleeping at all afterwards. It was simply fascinating!
A couple years ago, I got back into it and rewatched from the beginning to the end... admittedly, some of the episodes I remembered clearly from my childhood, but somehow they scared me more, felt more bone-chilling... I'd actually have to turn the light on to get up and go to the bathroom because I was afraid to go down the hall without seeing what I was walking into, if that makes sense... It definitely gets to me more. Of course, now I'm okay since I've seen every episode like 50 times in the past few years, but I still thought it was interesting, to see how age changes how you perceive something.

We have a better understanding of those "monsters" now. I think the storylines that go along with the show is probably why. I'm not sure though

When I was younger, some things that SW had would scare me. I remember the episode that scared me most as a child was "Dead Ringer" from season 3. and the red glowing eyes of the Warewolf from season 2. I think when your a kid your scared of alot of things cause you don't understand them or what it is. Now the things that scared me back then like, Aliens and so what don't scare me anymore. Now I'm just more interested in it.

There's not a a single thing I'm not more impressed with now then I was back then.
Music, acting and story. I look at it as an amazing show whereas before I thought it was an entertaining one.

I feel like the storylines also have a bigger affect on me now because of experiences... I'm rewatching Banshee right now and feel like it's a mistake because my grandma recently died, recently bein 5-6 months ago but the memory is still there like it happened yesterday... her health wasn't the best and everyone knew her time was limited because of her heart condition. I can definitely understand Fi's emotions throughout the episode, wanting to protect her grandpa when she knows his days might be numbered. It definitely hits closer to home now than before.

I can remember watching this show way late at night, like 2 am (which was a big deal. I wasn't supposed to be up past eleven or so. Haha), but I don't think I ever had nightmares from it. I never found it as scary as Are You Afraid of the Dark? (some of those episodes scarred me for years). I mostly just thought it was so cool.
I think the idea of someone else taking over your body definitely freaked me out, though. Jack/Bricriu scared me a little in the Nexus, especially when he talked about how the beings in the spirit world were getting annoyed with Fi's meddling. Bricriu's takeover of Molly made me imagine my own mom getting taken over by an evil spirit, and that was a little unpleasant.
The scariest moment of the entire show, though, was in "Angel" when Fi sees the angel in the window after she talks to him on the phone. I don't know why, but that always terrified me.
It doesn't scare me at all anymore, but the things that moved me or gave me chills still do, like when the Banshee says "it was not we who took him" or when you see Jack standing outside Fi's room at the end of "Medium." There are so many of those moments, it'd take a while to list them off, but you get the picture. It's amazing how invested I still am in the characters years later.

The only episode of So Weird that ever scared me was Fall. I remember having nightmares of the Pete kid falling from the pulley-thing down onto the rocks. Now that I'm older, I think it's weird that 6-year-old-me was more afraid of innocent kids dying than a ghost-boy in a laptop or a Banshee or any of the other things in the show meant to be scary/creepy. And I still find it hard to watch Fall because that scenario of Pete's death is so realistic.

I remember when I was really young, I was watching So Weird in my parents room and then alien silhouettes (Listen, Roswell) would appear on screen and I would run out of there so scared. LOL. Of course now I don't. I also remember in the episode Nightmare, when they are in the white room and they hear a loud noise, I would be scared of that noise too.

I think what most surprised me was how I reacted to "Werewolf" when I re-watched it. That one's a classic for me, no doubt.

Recently, I find that I can relate to the show as an adult in that I no longer live in a typical home of my own like I did as a kid, so the moving around and living like a gypsy of sorts rings familiar to me now The concepts about relationships with people, how important they are, and how they can change is also something that I can understand more now Watching it now though also makes me imagine how it could be nice to have an older brother-- I have a sibling but watching Fi and Jack makes me think that it's a pretty cool family dynamic
