YES ANOTHER MAREY SHIPPER!!!! I started out shipping them as a joke, but it quickly became srs business. There's SO MUCH SUBTEXT for it. AND EVEN JON COOKSEY HAS IMPLIED THAT A ROMANCE BETWEEN THE TWO IS POSSIBLE. ( X) Seriously! *clicks* Wow. That's interesting. I don't know why I like them. Like in some ways it's weird because she's so much older but Carey is older than all the other kids and such. And he was just such a mature character compared to everyone else. When snooping on adventures he seriously would act like the really mature adult like 'you silly kids' sometimes. He wasn't as into it as Clu to me but I loved how all the siblings were so different. They all balanced each other out and things like that. (Speaking of mature watching Widows Walk and Annie is talking about how everyone else is older. Hilariously weird coincidence.) Yeah, I thought it was weird at first too but once you start noticing the subtext, it's surprisingly easy to ship it for real. They really do come off as equals, especially in their scenes together like how he confides in her that he dropped out. Or how he starts calling her "Molly" or "Mol" in season 3. I never thought he came off as another "kid," like whenever he has a scene with Fiona it looks more like babysitting than hanging out with a friend XD

I never really think about it like that since we haven't seen Carey grow up on the show. He was college-aged when he's introduced on the show and the relationship between him and Molly never comes off like a familial one-- if he thought of Molly as an aunt or something it would be different, but he doesn't as signified by his calling her "Mrs. P" or later "Molly" and occasionally "Mol" He always came off as so much older and more mature than Jack and Fi and the one most likely to sit at the "adult" table so I would never think of it as on the same level as Annie/ , especially since Annie's a high school student and 's happily married. I totally get why you don't ship it though, if I saw it that way I wouldn't ship it either XD The episode "Fountain" it shows them as kids. So in some way they did grow up together. But like I said, I don't mind people shipping them, The more ships the better in my opinion : D Yeah but it was only like a three second scene and Molly and Carey don't even really interact in it so I don't count it XD We didn't actually see Eric Lively as Carey growing up, thinking of Molly as a parental-like figure. That's why I don't think of it as like Annie/ . I don't mind you not shipping them and I understand your perspective. Just saying, I don't see it that way

Yeah I think I slowly started shipping it the way there were little changes like him switching from "Mrs. P" to "Mol". I loved him confiding in her and that's another reason I'm so upset that Chrysalis was never made. I thought that would have been a really interesting episode.

Yeah, even aside from Molly/Carey I would have loved Chrysalis just for digging into real-world problems and giving an adult character more of a back-story. Molly Phillips was such a great character and that storyline about her former alcoholism would have only made her greater. It also would have added a new dimension to Carey, to see him as an average college student, getting into a bit of trouble, and maybe shed some more light on his decision to drop out.

Yes. I am all for backstories. Backstories are awesome. It would have been really cool to have had an episode like that. Oh well.

I voted for Carey/Molly so now they're tied for first. OH YEAH. Something just dawned on me. I started shipping Molly/Carey in... what, like 2000 or 2001? A loooong time ago. And a lot of my ships in other fandoms also had a big age difference. I don't know why but I've always been drawn to that. And then a year and a half ago, I started dating the love of my life, the man I will marry one day (hopefully not too far in the future). And he's 17 years older than me. So was all of this like... a self-fulfilling prophecy? HAVE I BEEN SUBCONSCIOUSLY TRYING TO RECREATE MOLLY/CAREY OVER AND OVER AGAIN, TO THE POINT THAT IT ACTUALLY BECAME MY REALITY?! ! Sadly, we don't have the angst of Molly/Carey. Or the musical talent. Or much in common with them at all, really. So maybe not...

From these options, Rick & Molly. I do like Fi and Ryan, though, from S2E9 "Second Generation" 🤷♀️
