Isn't it interesting how differently the same mythical being can be portrayed? In SO WEIRD, will o the wisps are devilishly evil creatures hellbent on possessing human bodies, deception and trickery. In Pixar's fairy tale film, BRAVE: will o the wisps are shown as mysterious beings who will lead you to your fate if you follow them. They seem non-threatening and rather cute in BRAVE, whereas Bricriu in SO WEIRD attempted to abduct Jack's mind and body so he could blend into the mortal world. Quite the difference, eh? (Aside from all that, what did you think of the movie)

I just watched it for the first time over the summer! When the wisps first appeared I was like NOO DON'T FOLLOW THEM because of Bricriu XD I still think they were pretty mischievous to lead Merida to the witch in the first place and then to Mor'du, but I guess it was necessary for her to realize what was going on and fix her relationship with her mother. They seemed to follow the Harry Potter definition of wisps/hinkypunks though and just lured people to shady places, not possessing them like Bricriu. I think Bricriu was a special wisp though, working with other forces and that's why he possessed others.
In any case, it was a great movie and the graphics were phenomenal.

Yes, the graphics were pretty nice. I loved the wisp effects and also Merida's long, bright red hair. Must have taken forever to animate!
