I can't speak on that as I have no information. I've seen previews for the Animal Planet show claiming to have video evidence but all they ever show (on commercials) are cheap CGI shots of weird looking mer people. So I haven't watched the show. Has anyone here? I have, and yeah it's all CGI Shots

Did they actually show any supposed evidence? Yes but it's all acted and the real looking videos even looks acted, Which like I said makes no sense, why would they get in trouble by the US government for that? I just don't get it.

it's suppose to be based off what really happened. about them finding a mermaid body.

Hmm ... sounds a bit sketchy to me. Sounds like a spinoff of their other series: LOST TAPES.

Mermaid: A Body Found was a fictional documentary as well as Mermaids: The New Evidence. Here's an article talking about it and that domain business X

They didn't really get into trouble. As the article says "To enhance the pseudo-reality aspect of the program, a web site was established at believeinmermaids.com offering no content other than a opening page hoax proclaiming that the site's domain has been seized by the U.S. Department of Justice and Homeland security." In other words, they did a lot to make it seem legit but it really wasn't.
