Hey guys: I have been a follower of this show for years and growing up it was my favorite on the Disney channel. I am so glad I taped most of the episodes. When Fi leaves in Season 3 in the episode Lightning Rod, that episode intrigues me for many reasons and it actually is one of my favorites because of the deeper meanings in it.
I also like reading So Weird fan fics but I think I have an idea that no one has written yet, I have read so many of them and they are great. My idea is this --
After Encore, Fi realizes the truth - that the pursuit of her father and the mystery of why he died is something that she cannot discover while on tour with the Molly Phillips band. People are getting in her way. Molly, as much as Fi knows she is trying to protect her, doesn't want to believe like Fi does. , Jack, Carey, and Clu are all great but they won't support her where it counts. They are interfering with her investigations and their doubts stand in her way.
Now a few months since the gig in New York, this have radically changed in the Phillips house. Weird stuff is almost banned to be talked about. However, Fi keeps finding things hidden around the house that deepen the mystery of her father's death. She finds old journals written by Rick and Molly, music demo tapes featuring songs she has never heard before, and old files of her father's that show her just how deep Rick was into the paranormal, and letters between Rick and Aunt Melinda that suggest Aunt Melinda may have believed Rick about the stuff he was investigating. Fi asks Molly about some of this stuff but Molly just keeps telling her its nothing, nothing to see hear, and she needs to forget it all. Its just too dangerous for Molly. However, from what Fi sees, the more she believes that it may be her destiny to fight against the paranormal and that it is her mission to finish what her dad started. However, she is not going to get any help from her family or friends sadly. They just want to close their eyes and block it all out but Fi can't.
Whereas Fi would normally involve Jack, Molly, Clu, and Carey in her discoveries and post them to her website, she is finding nothing more than push back. She realizes over the weeks in that summer that if she wants to find out the truth, if she wants to do her own investigations, and if she is to finish what daddy started, she has to leave. She ponders her options, maybe hitchhiking across the country like did when he was 16, perhaps going with Clu to college under the guise of doing a special project that would satisfy her schooling, or maybe just keep continuing to investigate the house and on the computer after everyone has gone to sleep.
Fi also bad that Molly is refusing to tour again, even though Molly says she is okay with it, Fi can tell in Molly's eyes that she isn't. She needs an escape and needs a way out. When Fi overhears Molly and Mrs. Thelan talking about Annie going on tour with them, Fi finds her opportunity. If Fi could convince her mother that she is done with the paranormal stuff - and that she just wants to live a normal life, she could get out to further her investigations. If Fi could convince Molly to let Annie on tour, then she could be assured that Molly would be sufficiently distracted to not check up on her so much. If she could get to Aunt Melinda's emotional side, show her what her father was on to and join her quest to find the truth about her father, Aunt Melinda could cover for her and whether they were in Roswell, Chicago, or Manhattan, as far as Molly has to know, Fi is just happily studying in Seattle. It was perfect and it was a chance she might never get again. If the truth is going to emerge, now is the time - Fi is convinced of that.
Now, with the new crew assembled and Fi's suitcases packed full of the stuff she found in her home, she could further the investigation. Fi's trip to Seattle is not about Fi wanting to live a normal life, but a seriously abnormal one. Getting Aunt Melinda on her side will be easy and also, Aunt Melinda can provide Fi with what she knows, the stuff Molly has hidden from her. From There she can make the connections with people detached from her family - James, Rebecca, Tad, Candy, and maybe even Papa Bear (he has always been on Fi's side). Papa Bear wants to know the truth about Rick's death just as much as Fi does. The PKB were on the verge of national stardom when all of the sudden Rick died.
At this point, we see a divergence in the Phillips lives. Annie goes on tour with Molly. Fi sets out to Seattle, to finish her father's work. The danger, mystery, and intrigue being something she had never seen before.
Let me know what you guys think! PS Happy to be here!
