Hi Everyone, I'm new here. I saw this forum and I thought why not? I got into So Weird towards the end of last year, and I'm so glad I did ! This show is awesome but I'm put out on what happened at the end of it. Especially now thanks to this forum, I know what the Original ideas for Series 3 would have been like. After a while it got me thinking, after seeing such shows like Hey Arnold! and Samurai Jack being brought back to TV screens from that era of late 90's and early 2000's I got the inspiration and the motivation to come up with this Fan Project that I want to start up. A SO WEIRD ANIMATED SERIES!!!!
I'm LEGIT serious about this and I'm NOT the kind of person who starts something and then gives up when it doesn't work out. I really think this could be a great Project to create! It give So Weird the closure it deserves and pay homage to it as well. I'm an Animation Student who is Passionate and Dedicated to the craft. The series is a non profit fan production that will go up on YouTube for the pure enjoyment for SW fans and viewers alike. The idea that it picks up right where the Series left off and it would be based on the Ideas that the creators originally planned for the show's final season. I've seen something similar done with Big Finish Productions on how the take unused storylines that were never made during Dr Who's Classic Run and bring it to life on Full Cast audio with the Original Actors and everything. (It’s definitely worth a look for you Doctor Who Fans out there). The show will stick to So Weird’s Original format and storytelling as close as it can but in a 2D Animated Format. I want to try and aim for the Storytelling to resonate the late 90's/2000's era of TV that the show comes from as well as to capture the Emotion, Heart and Light Hearted Fun Disney/Pixar does with their animations. I've been working around this idea on the reason of Fi's departure from the show. Thanks to the forum here I had got working around the idea Fi left on the impression that she continually scared Her family and pushed them away because she always looked into the paranormal, the very thing that took Rick away from them and Her Dad's death. But what Fi doesn't know that Molly does except Fi for who she is and the fact paranormal stuff is really but it's just a touchy topic. I felt there's this rift between the Fi and her family that never got properly resolved so the main goal for the storyline is to reunite Fi with her Molly and Jack and establish the strong family bond again. And have Molly and Jack able to accept the paranormal exist and are able to move on with the Surprise twist that Rick is able to return in the Series Finale. That can be the main driving force, Keep in mind I'm still working on the details and plots so it's not fixed just yet. The series outline would be two seasons: 1. Series 1 Would be 13 Half an Hour episodes and it would focus on Fi and what's she has been up to during the events of Season 3 during her stay at her Aunt's. It can link up with Season 3 with the message chats Annie has with Fi whenever she had trouble like for example Exit 13 when Annie asked Fi's help with the time loop problem. But these chats would be from Fi's perspective instead. Series 1 would have a separate story arc from the main story. A separate mystery for Fi to solve and get her motivated back into investigating Her Dad's death by the end of this season. The arc idea I came up with so far is Aunt Melinda's son or something like that has been cursed so weird and bad things keep happening to him and he and Fi would have to solve the problem and get rid of the curse. By the end of the season, the arc would be resolved and the curse removed but it is revealed that the curse was a trap for the Big Bad (that took Rick away from the mortal realm) to try and capture Fi and take her too. Fi escapes but now is more motivated than ever to find out what her Father had started and finish. And that leads into . . . 2. Series 2 26 episodes this time where after 6 months away at her Aunt's Fi decides to rejoin the tour so she can protect her family and continue her investigations. This where the original Series 3 ideas come into play with the storyline. I decided to keep Annie on the tour since it would be good for Fi to have someone who she can confine with especially when it's paranormal and help investigate like how Clu was for Fi in Season 1. I feel like a good friendship between these two characters and give Annie more Character Development. Personally I thought she was alright, it was just bad timing that she came in to the show where the story had just been cut off from getting really into the plot. If Annie had arrived when the whole Rick plot was resolved or if it was a spin off then she would have been alright. Anyway, Annie would help Fi with her investigations and gradually as we rush towards the Finale, Molly and Jack soon come to accept the paranormal and the Family bond with Fi is restored. The finale would be Fi travelling to the Other Side to rescue her Dad and stop the Big Bad with Jack protecting her (The whole Knight arc would be picked up in this season too.) And the series arc that was started in 1999 will be resolved. And that's pretty much sums up what I've been working on. As you can see, I'm not messing around. I hope to get this done and actually I'm putting this up not just to let you guys know this is happening. BUT TO HOPEFULLY START RECRUITING PEOPLE TO HELP OUT AND GET A PRODUCTION TEAM TOGETHER TO WORK ON THIS!!!!!!! So if there's anyone out there who wants to get involved, please don't hesitate to respond to this thread. At the moment I'm looking to gather a writing team together to help the episodes for Series 1. Once scripts are done, then story-boarding and voice recording can come next. I really think it'll be great to see how it turns out and be something for everyone. Plus it'll be fun to do. So what do you guys say? Are you with me?

I think this is a beyond awesome idea! Wow, you've really thought this out. I'm all for any continuation of the original storyline. I can't really get involved with production of this but I think we can all at least try and get the word out.

Hello! I'm not sure where you're at on the project however I'm a writer, by no means professional but I would love to be someday. I everything from fanfiction to original work and would love to dive more into screenwriting. So, I would most definitely be honored to offer up my services and assist in the writing process in anyway possible. I love So Weird, obviously as most people here, and I think this is an exceptional project. Please let me know how I can help!

Hi allforclu, First off thanks for responding and YES I’m more than happy to accept your offer. And that’s great that you want to go into screenwriting, Hope that goes well for you. Bringing you to speed, I’m currently at the brainstorm stage of the animated series in terms of writing and just focusing on the storyline for Series 1 on what has Fi been up to during the events of So Weird’s third season. So there are no solid scripts of yet so the plan was to start gathering a writing team of sorts to help and build on ideas. You and I can start bouncing off ideas ourselves to just get the ball rolling and more writers will be able to join along the way. For Series 1 of the animated series, we need a separate story arc for that before picking up on the whole ‘Rick/Paranormal Mystery’ in Series 2. Start with something that can refresh the audience’s memory of the show and as a plot device for the new viewers so they can be brought up to speed on what So Weird is all about. So by the end of the first season, everyone watching will be on the same page with complete understanding on what’s going on and will be able to go straight back into the original storyline set up by the original series no probs. So to start off with: - We need to establish a line of communication, somewhere easy to access like on here or the Facebook messenger or etc. What works best for you? - Second of all, I would like to see some of your writing; do you have anything available that I can look at please? - Third, if there is anyone else who you know that would be very interested in participating in this project? - And finally, start coming up ideas of what could happen to Fi during her stay at her Aunt’s, I would love to hear them. Plus at some point I’ll set up a google drive folder so any scripts or writing that we do can be accessed through that and google docs at both of our disposal. Once that’s sorted, we can start coming up and mapping out ideas for the 13 episode run of the first animated season of So Weird. ^_^ So any thoughts? Looking forward to your response and one last thing, WELCOME ABOARD! retroheart signing out

This is a very interesting concept you have. Although it seemed Fiona may have given up on paranormal investigation, perhaps she never really did. I like one of those "what ifs" and how Fi would be adjusting to life she left her family behind. After the incident that happened involving the evil spirits involved in Rick's death, it makes me wonder if she needed a break from doing what she enjoyed.
In regards to Rachel's son being diagnosed with a mysterious curse, have you consider creating an antagonist for the story arc? Not necessarily a villain per say. The character would be an antithesis to Fiona who, despite their appreciation of investigating, is using this as an opportunity to convince their naysayers in believing the supernatural exist? Maybe at some point the antagonist and Fi start getting to know one another, eventually putting their differences aside and helping out Fi overcome whatever obstacle is in her path. Just a suggestion that popped up in my mind. Feel free to tweak the idea if need be.

Hi Retroheat.
I have been thinking about your animated series, and maybe you could re-introduce Bricriu? Maybe Fi, or someone who gets ahold of her computer equipment accidentally releases him. A new encounter with Fi might give way to refreshing the fans on the original series and Fi's journey, since she encoutered him one time in each season.
Also, Fi might want her ring back from Annie at one point. The rings have so much significance to the original story arc. Maybe the series could have an episode where Fi and Annie re-unite, and she gives it back before re-joining her parents. Upon receiving it, the ring might be a good way to allow flashbacks of important moments from the show.

Thanks for the Ideas weirdsince1999, Bricriu would definitely return to the series as to keep the tradition of him appearing each season. That would be for sure on the cards for sure like Fi getting the ring back from Annie. That would happen when Fi returns to the Philips in the second season. Good idea for the flashbacks too, the Ring and Bricriu would serve as good entry points for that sort of scenario and bring fans new and old up to speed on what had happened in the show's past.

If, at some point, Annie exits the animated series, or leaves Fiona after giving back her ring, maybe Fiona could get a glimpse of Annie's panther following suit.

Oh Fi would see the panther for sure, I guessed since Annie is seen instgabing with Fi throughout Season 3,she would have told her about the panther after the events of Annie's Song.
Now here's an idea that i have been debating on, to pick up where the series left off or to start fresh with the story from the beginning in a revival sense. I know people get nervous on the idea or even the word 'reboot'. But a rubbish cheap version of So Weird is something that's definitely NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! I promise that, but unlike Hey Arnold and Samurai Jack, the gap since the So Weird finished to now is awkward to say the least. The reason why is say that is because the way Fi was written out, it's clear it was rushed job since the actress didn't want to do it anymore. And because of Fi's sudden departure, it makes it tricky to give her a strong return. I've been trying to nut it out on my own (i don't know any creative people who would be into this sort of thing on my side of the world to bounce ideas off with. People like that always seem to be in the UK or America😕) And i can't think of a strong return for Fiona Phillips.
What I'm starting to considering of doing as an option is to start the story again from the beginning. Run it along a similar path the original series took, building up the strong momentum of the mystery of Rick and the Supernatural, maybe have a personal arc of Molly pretending to deny the paranormal due to her fear of her family heritage of witches and the fear she may have powers she doesn't want. If anything, i would treat the revival as how a well know stories like Snow White and Brave gets treated on that awesome show Once Upon A Time. (Does anyone else think So Weird would work well in that world of Storybrooke?)
Anyway, the revival would stay true to the original material and when it would get to where season 3 started, i would have Fi stay along side Annie or something like that and keep the overall arc going until the big finale where Fi goes to the Other Side to save her Father. I just think it would be easier story wise to go with that option.
So let the voting commence, start fresh or pick up right where the original left off?

Would love to see character designs, as an amateur cartoonist, I like seeing cartoon interpretations of real people.
