Alright... this may seem weird, but has anyone ever dealt with hesitation when deciding whether to watch the show or not?
What I mean is, I watched the show as a kid and I have such vivid and strong memories of it. In a way I feel like it shaped the art and music that I make. After the show was long off the air I tried for years to find copies of it online until I finally did a few years ago.
But I have yet to go back and rewatch the series. That’s right, I haven’t seen it since I was a kid, besides a few episodes. I’m just afraid that it won’t live up to the hype I’ve given it over the years.
I really want to watch a relive those days but I’m nervous my vision of it will be ruined. Anyone else had something similar to this?

I get you! I feel like that now with rewatching movies I liked in the past. I've already experienced not liking movies now that I once did and that sucks! But with So Weird, I basically watched it throughout the years so I didn't have any time in between not watching.
But let me tell you, it still holds up! Season 1 and 2 do for me at least. The themes are timeless and there is a better appreciation of those dark themes as an adult.

I don’t think my memories will be tarnished:)

Cool question!
I've found that Seasons 1 and 2 definitely live up to the hype and beyond. The fun part is now that your older you will probably see even more things you like!
When I got back into my So Weird tapes many years ago (after totally forgetting about the series), my only regret is that I didn't watch the episodes in order. I first popped in "Transplant" and "Twin" (kind of silly to start watching at the end of season 2). So my two pieces of advice for you are: 1) try to watch the episodes from the beginning in PRODUCTION order (not the order Disney aired them but the order in which the writers/producers made them and 2) try to watch no more than a few at a time, I know binge watching is tempting but its better to savor it I think. Especially since there are only 65 episodes.
My preference would be a Season 3 with both Fi and Annie, continuing the story the writers were establishing but I still love the season 3 that was anyway.
Anyways, Enjoy the show, its a masterpiece and let us know how your rewatching experience goes!!

Watching it in production order is better I agree. The episodes make more sense like they aren't jumping from being on the road and then int the house. Where it really matters is around the holiday episodes. The production order can be found on the forum and on the so weird wikipedia

Honestly, I've been rewatching it again and again since 2008 and I never got this feeling. We have this idea in our head that this was a kid's show so it might be a little silly but boy that's so far from reality. The show doesn't have good special effects (but neither did Once Upon a Time more than a decade later, so...) but it has SO MUCH FEELING, the main story is honestly really mature and so realistic. Dealing with loss is not something we are used to see in these kind of shows. The music also made it 10x better and more serious, cause we can clearly see some topics they tried to bring to the show, death, divorce, losing a friend etc so what I'm trying to say is, don't be afraid to rewatch, you'll probably cry like a baby (like I always do with Rebecca) and get overly emotional about everything and it'll be fantastic. I can get like that even with season 3, because I think about Fi's sacrifice, I think about Molly finally being able to move on and it touches me too.

Well, I’m about halfway through season two now after putting off watching the show for a while after first posting this. (Mainly because of a backlog of shows that i had on my watch list).
I’m happy to say that I haven’t been disappointed and don’t think my memories of this show will be ruined in anyway. It’s been really fun seeing things that I only vaguely remember from my childhood. It’s bringing back a lot of memories I had forgotten about. As you all said, it definitely is a timeless show, it has aged really well.
Watching it and listening to the So Weird Podcast you folks put out has me wishing I’d found this community back in my middle school days when I thought I was the only one who remembered this show!
I’ll probably be spending a lot of time on this forum during the quarantine to look through all the compiled info that’s been dug up over the years!
Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy in this “weird” time.

Thanks for the well wishes! I'm so happy you have enjoyed your rewatch so far.
I also wasn't into the online fandom back in the day. I was purely on the Harry Potter forum back then. Welcome to our community!

I also wasn't into the online fandom back in the day. I was purely on the Harry Potter forum back then. Welcome to our community! Is this Emily from the podcast? I just finished an episode where you brought up Harry Potter haha, I think it was Fountain, talking about the time turners. Depending on when you were on HP forums, you probably crossed paths with my sister at some point, she’s a big Harry Potter buff. One summer in high school she literally paid me $50 to read the whole series before the 6th movie came out lol. I agreed for the money but I really continued reading because I enjoyed it a lot. Such a gripping story!

So, I’m nearly done with season three and I’m really struggling to finish it out. I’m really not a fan. There are so many issues that I have with it, that I could get into but I’ll just list a few and see what everyone else thinks. The writing is pretty shaky Annie isn’t very likable to me No Fi (the big one!) I don’t like how it like Molly treats her as a replacement sometimes to Fi No consistency of reaction from side characters about weird stuff happening. Sometimes they accept it, sometimes they’re skeptic. It’s to the point where the characters feel unbelievable This like a Disney show, whereas season 1 and 2 did not. I’m gonna stop there, even though I have much more to say. I still hold my stance saying that the show holds up, but when I have another rewatch, I will most likely stop at after season 2 ends. Id be happy to say that season 3 isn’t canon

Yep, it's Emily from the podcast. Haha! There were many people on the Warner Bros Harry Potter forums at one point, so it's totally possible I came across your sister.
I'm curious if you ever ended up finishing your rewatch. I also have decided to just stop watching the show at the end of season two from now on. There are only a few episodes in season three that I would put in the "like" category, which just doesn't feel worth a full rewatch to me.
For me, the biggest issue I will always have for season three is simply know that it wasn't supposed to go that way. It is just too frustrating.

I did! And I still will most likely stop at season 3 on rewatch. Agree that there are a few decent episodes (toward the end mostly), but not enough for me to feel like getting through all the bad ones. I feel a strange weight lifted tbh. I’ve been putting off watching this show for years because I didn’t want my old nostalgic memories to be tarnished, but I’m Happy to say that they aren’t The show is great and I’m impressed how well it holds up.
