I know. It makes me angry, though, because they retweeted an article about TBTonDC that mentioned So Weird in the article (and in its title) and I don't know why they'd do that if they weren't ever going to show it. It got my hopes up.

I've been wondering about this recently, while seeing a ton of shows I never thought would be made now being green lighted.
I'm guessing the So Weird creator is out of the business now. But has he ever considered pitching a sequel to the series?
I know we've discussed it but has he?

But has he ever considered pitching a sequel to the series? I know we've discussed it but has he? I'm pretty sure he hasn't. I don't think So Weird would ever work as a sequel, sadly, because the show isn't well remembered. I've heard a lot of people who watched Zoog Disney when they were younger say that they changed the channel whenever So Weird came on because it was too scary for them. Very few teenagers have ever even heard of the show, so it'd be hard to pitch a sequel to any network. I think it'd have to be a reboot (hypothetically), and if they were going to do it, they would probably have done it by now, given the paranormal trend in TV that's been going on for forever now.

Doesn't seem likely especially now after so long, a reboot could work but it would probably be Disneyfied even more than season 3 was. A scary thought.

I don't think the reboot would end up on Disney Channel. It sounds like they've even watered down Girl Meets World, so there's no way So Weird could air on there. It'd probably be on ABC Family, which is owned by Disney. If that ended up being the case, I think the feel for the show would be very different, and maybe not in a good way.

Totally forgot about ABC Family. You're right, they'd probably gut everything we love about the show.

Yeah... as much as I would love for it to come back, in one medium or the other, I doubt it's gonna happen. If they were gonna make some sort of spin off or reboot, they would have done so already. Unfortunately, not all shows are like Doctor Who in it's never ending glory. I feel like if it ever were to come back, it would be reruns. Just not on Disney. If any channel would do reruns, it'd probably be ABC Family. In the highly improbable case of a full on reboot/spin off, I'd actually love to see it as an hour-long drama on the CW. I feel like they'd treat it well. Of course, we're more likely to get them on DVD before any of that happens.

I hadn't thought about the CW. I think that if it did end up on the CW, people would just say that it's just a ripoff of Supernatural, unfortunately, even if So Weird did come first. There are quiite a few similarities.

I was just watching a review for Girl Meets World on youtube, the reviewer made a point that I like but can't really back because other than GMW, there's not any modern Disney shows I'm interested in enough to actually give a shot. Basically, he mentioned how GMW made him think of how Disney used to be and that he had hope that maybe it meant that Disney is starting to realize they suck and that they could be trying to revert back to what they used to be, before everything went bad. If that is the case, there might be a glimmer of hope, but I'm not really holding out for it.

I was going to watch Girl Meets World, but then I remembered how frustrated I am with Disney Channel and decided against it. But if this sequel that sprang from nostalgia leads to good things for other older shows (and their newer ones), then that's great! Maybe I should watch after all. Hmmm.

I watched it the night it premiered and it kind of blew me away, how good it was compared to other things on Disney. Honestly, it doesn't really even feel like a Disney show. I mean, Maya identifies herself as the "opposite of innocence"... How Disney is that? XD

I ended up watching the pilot a couple of days ago. It was better than I was expecting. I don't watch a lot of modern Disney so I can't tell if it's actually better than the other shows they have on there, but it was alright for a pilot. It was cheesy at times, like the ending where they all meet up in the subway (even that guy she's interested in) to commemorate her getting her own subway card, but I liked the message.

According to Nickandmore (a website that is very reliable and hasn't been wrong since I started checking), Disney Channel's DisneyReplay lineup (TBTonDC) is expanding to include That's So Raven and Lilo & Stitch: The Series, starting August 13 (or the morning of August 14). On that night, the DisneyReplay block will run all the way from 12 midnight to 6 AM. Don't know if it's a one night thing (the 6 hour block) or a permanent change.
It's good to see that they're starting to add new shows. Still have my doubts about So Weird airing, but wouldn't it be a nice surprise if it did? =]

Those shows are still kinda new as in they didn't air around when So Weird aired. But hey, it's something. I admire your research and optimism Emily!
