When I was a kid, I thought that they were setting up Annie/Jack for a lot of reasons, but the one that I find funny is the fact that I misheard the lyrics in the song 'Dream about you'.
When Annie sings the line, "I need your number two." I thought it said, "I'll be your Angel number two." in reference to Jack.
In reality, I think most people on this show can be pretty shippable if you look hard enough. I'm a sucker for romance and wish they had added love interests for the characters that were actively around for more than one episode. (Slow burns!!!!) On the other hand, it's probably good that they didn't, because not every show has to have romance thrown in your face. (Not everyone is obsessed with love like I was as a child and still am as an adult. Haha.) The thing that gets me is that I usually hate romance movies. I like plot first and then romance. Maybe that's why I want it in shows like So weird. I think balance is everything.
What do you guys think of Jack/Annie?

I think it would have helped better fold Annie into the family. They are fun and bounce off each other pretty well (especially in the 2nd half of season 3). I agree that are some seeds planted along the way that kind of make you think they are building up to that. They are a very cute couple - but beyond the face of that, I don't know. Then I don't because of Gabe, who is Jack's girlfriend in season 1 and 2... I really hated how they just totally dropped Gabe from the story in season 3 but at least they didn't have Jack overtly have another romantic relationship so their romance can live on in our minds (I'll just take Jack at his word that he was asking about Emily Banks for a friend in Talking Board ha). I am a big romance fan also but I like that So Weird explores many of the other cool stories that aren't romance related so cool balance!

Yeah, it was so wrong how they treated Gabe. I agree with that. I wish they would have had her in more of the show. Like, phone calls or visits. It is cool that they showed references with the Angel necklace and emails, though.

I felt with Jack/Annie the show didn't know what they wanted. One episode it feel like mutual flirting, another sibling bond, and then you have the best friend vibe. I would have preferred if the writers would have nailed down one and stuck with it.

Yeah, I’m not sure how I feel about Jannie NOW. I haven’t properly watched season 3 since my early teen years. I will let you know what I think of it after I watch it again.

I ship it. Tbh, I think I would like Annie a lot more as Jack's girlfriend than just as Molly's friend's kid who got dropped off so Molly could give her ~~musical experience~~ They're cute together and there are definitely moments like at the end of Dead Ringer when they looked like they were so close to kissing.
