While the family prepares for Christmas, a depressed Fi stumbles upon a 1950s-style soda shop and drinks a Cocoa Sleigh Ride that takes her back in time first to when she was 12, then younger to when her father was alive.

One of my faves. Always nice to see a bit more backstory, and Christmas episodes are always good.

Never before have I seen any show pull off a Christmas episode the way this one did - it screams REAL! Christmas on the bus, Fi's new CD, Jack reluctantly dancing with Fi with that awesome smile, the mall... but at the very end, still magical with the homeless guy and Nick in the Taxi, plus the post card... AND all the flashbacks... its purely original and just reminds me of my Christmases. Rick dancing with baby Fi. In fact, is perfect like all the best of So Weird into 1 episode.

The final draft for the script of this episode is being discussed here.

Just like Rick, I'm constantly dancing with my little one, and the little one LOVES it! Not to mention, my "status" quotes this episode 😅 Such a fantastic episode, and one of the rare "time travel" esque type of episode that I actually enjoy and makes sense. Most don't and don't tie well, together. It's this thing called "consistency" which (at first) this show did (before tapering off in S3). Other shows...not so much.
