I don't think I had ever seen this episode before last night. I thought Mackenzie Phillips did a great job playing Bricriu, and I loved Bricriu's version of "In the Darkness". Episodes like this really impress me, because some parts of it are very silly and just on the edge of being too cheesy or overshadowing the more serious parts, but somehow it all works.

One interesting thing to me about this ep is in the lyrics of Bricriu's song "tomorrow's as settled as yesterday" and even heavier hit with the firefighter's dream, but that's quite feasibly a deception from the start. It hearkens back to "Web Sight" when Rick (we think) told Fi that she could change the future. It's not settled or set. I really like that message. But it seems so contrary to the "everything was destined" theme of the show. I've considered the notion that Fi is one of the few with the power to actually change destiny, and that's a sort of interesting idea. Or the idea that Fi is simply fulfilling what destiny should be while the baddies fight it, but that isn't as consistent with the lyrics and is less interesting.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
