Fi learns that an online study program, OSSN, is actually a cover for a group of vampires, and they are looking to make Jack a member of their clan.

Thank you so much for posting this series It was my favorite growing up You might be the only place on the web to see it now. I'm glad there are some other folks out there that remember it fondly. I think it was a very intelligent show, and in this era of television could practically re-air for adults

Jay Bryant, the writer for this episode, commented on a So Weird review on YouTube. I can't confirm that it is from him, but I doubt someone would impersonate him.
Anyway, his comment on this video says:
I wrote the "Vampire" episode, and that character and Fi definitely had a mutual attraction. It's been a while since I've seen or thought about it, but I believe we intended his appearance at the bus window as a sort of farewell look at his crush. Of course, one could find that to be creepy as well, I suppose, but it wasn't intended to suggest that Fi was in danger from him.
---
I think it's so cool to hear from those involved in the show even now (he made his comment just 4 months ago) and that they still think about this show sometimes, enough to search out videos about it on Youtube. =]

I like this one. We get some good info on Rick. I mean, we already suspected, but this confirms that he, like Fi, wasn't just interested in the paranormal, but actively fighting baddies. I feel sorry for Romania, though - vampires fleeing back there and all.
We also get Jack/Gabe stuff, and I really enjoy that. Yes, it's for the audience sake, to remind/inform viewers that the angel pendant is from his girlfriend that he loves so that they understand what's happening at the end. But I still enjoy it.
One thing I really enjoy is seeing Fi chat with Candi and Ryan and James. I really like that Fi doesn't do it all alone - she has a group of people that help her with the research and give answers and that sort of thing. Even above and beyond the brother who saves her so frequently. People that are off-screen do stuff and contribute. Several episodes so that, and it's just something I like. Also kinda like that James had to go bed and couldn't keep helping. Fortunately Ryan and Candi can stay up all night. I guess it ultimately didn't make a difference, since Fi was hypnotized and out of it during the final confrontation, but I still like it.

The continuity in seasons 1-2 is so beautiful.
One of my favorite things about this episode is that it implies Rick had a run in with the vampires. I really wish that story could have been revisited in flashbacks in a season 3 episode or continued at a later date in the show. I know Cooksey's said that at the end of season 3, Rick would be brought back and if the show went on for longer, the story would continue from there. I would have liked to see Rick and Fi team up to take on the vampires when the OSSN pops up in another town in a later season.

I was thinking about this episode since last week's livestream and how the characteristics of vampires were unique for its time and felt like making a list of "facts" (well my perception of facts anyway) about vampires in So Weird's world.
• Vampires originate from Transylvania, Romania.
• Vampires are both born and made.
• They age.
And possibly at the same rate as humans? If Brent's dad and Jack's dad had a confrontation in the past and now they (Jack and Brent) are both...teens. I'm still questioning how old Brent was suppose to be.
• Their eyes glow when they use their powers.
• Sometimes, their voices change when they use their powers.
• Powers include: strength, speed, stealth, putting people under a trance, hypnotic control, ...sticking to fast moving tour buses?
• No, they don't sleep.
And from Pete's line to Jack about not missing it, it seems they can't sleep even if they wanted to.
• They do drink blood and with the blood drives the OSSN was having, they stick with human.
• But drinking blood (as opposed to just being a vampire) is what removes their willpower.
• Both not drinking blood and having feelings of care/love can restore willpower.
• Other people's symbols of love however, are their weakness.
• As opposed to garlic. Garlic does nothing.
(Were there other objects on that table which showed the items past victims brought?)
• Daylight also does nothing.
