That actually popped up on my Facebook newsfeed sidebar! Word travels fast.
I wonder if Nick will end up getting rid of all the episodes now that the account is becoming better known. I don't think that's an official account. I've known about it for a while, though I'm watching the ones available on Amazon Prime first (which isn't all of them, sadly).

... that's weird that it's just now getting the attention. I didn't even realize that the channel was that old. XD Still... I wish Disney would take a hint.

AYAOTD has been on youtube for years. I watched the whole series there in like 2007, around the same time I rewatched So Weird. It's great Nickelodeon is releasing it on DVD though! They've always been better at making their older shows available, though. Wish Disney would follow suit.

Viacom has now blocked the episodes on that account.

Damn. I wish they never would have published an article about it. Of course word would get back to Viacom.
I still don't see why everyone made such a big hullabaloo about it now-- those episodes had been up there for years.

The first episode of the newest season is available on YouTube. It was so good! I watched the entire series (it's only six eps) this weekend. (I'll put my thoughts after the video.)
Three things I didn't like: the younger sibling tropes are tiresome, the romantic story lines in these shows never keep my interest, there were too many jokes about how "old" the 90s are. What I did love is that the girls solved their own problems with science, spoke up to adults and their friends, and even one scene a female lead walks away from a male lead when he said something rude to her. Yay to girls who don't accept BS!!
Also, the boys hugged and cried together, expressed emotion without judgement, and at one point (I won't spoil why) grabbed hands. Not once did they make gay jokes or have characters exchange disgusted faces in these scenes. It meant so much to see that kind of respect and healthy friendship.
I loved that AYAOTD didn't hold back and trusted if their audience wanted to see it because it's scary, they got what they asked for. The overall story had some terrifying jump scares that I'm sure would have given me nightmares as a child but I found entertaining now. And while I think the ending was too neatly wrapped, I appreciate them not forcing cliffhangers or leaving things open. It was satisfying and I can imagine watching it during Halloween.
One nerdy thing: Matt Kaplan is credited as the executive producer of the series and that name seemed familiar. He was producer for the To All The Boys trilogy based on Jenny Han's YA books! He used to work for Awesomeness Films before finding his own production company, ACE Entertainment. That's why the two companies share production credits with Will Smith (yes, THAT Will Smith)'s Overbrook Entertainment. Awesomeness and Overbrook were behind part 1. But because of Kaplan's position change, Awesomeness, Overbrook AND Ace share credit on parts 2 and 3.

Great observations, Betsy!
After sleeping on it, I do agree that the ending was maybe a little too neat, but I honestly had a big smile on my face the whole ending sequence. JT Billings, show runner, says in his Instagram bio "I don't want realism. I want magic," so I can understand why the ending was the way it was with that mindset.
As for the lack of gay jokes, the show runner for this season is openly gay, so that helps! It was cool to see a family with two moms in the show, too.
Do you mind if I include some of your comments in our podcast episode?

Don’t get me wrong, I smiled through the ending too. It felt… good. I can’t think of anything to cut out (not even the neat ending that I understand is because there’s uncertainty about another season so they needed a solid finale), so six episodes worked as the perfect amount.
I didn’t know any of that about JT Billings. I purposely didn’t look anyone/thing up and even stayed away from the individual ep descriptions. I’m also not in the demo to receive their ads; I could be online and not get spoiled. All that helped because, only going in with the trailer, it made it enjoyable and a surprise. I think that was the best way to approach it.
You’re more than welcome to mention my comments and insights on the podcast! Thank you for asking.

Posting this here because it's semi-related to my first reply:
Overbrook, which helped produce AYAOTD and TATBILB, focuses on entertainment in the form of produced series/movies and even record labels.
SOOO... if the Smiths have experience with content aimed at the 15-35 demographic, are a production company involved with TV, film, online campaigns, AND the music industry AND they have a direct connection to Mackenzie... it's a long shot but they sound like the perfect people to handle So Weird and keep the integrity of it. It's just a thought!

Are You Afraid of the Dark is getting a new season! Deadline broke the news earlier today:
The third season of the horror anthology Are You Afraid of the Dark is dubbed Ghost Island and will follow new characters who think they are attending a “fun” vacation on a resort island.
Are You Afraid of the Dark?: Ghost Island has begun production in the Dominican Republic and will bow later this year on Nickelodeon. It’s from ACE Entertainment. (x)
(Sorry if this steals your thunder, Emily. I just saw you hadn't posted it here so I did. )
