Been doing some rewatching lately. And thinking again that Fi really is a fighter - she always jumps right into the fray. And that's what I thought about this time through - she doesn't plan or strategize very often. "Vampire" is an exception, I admit. She frequently does research, but she rarely takes time to stop and think things through with how to confront baddies. She just rushes right in, every time. Kind of awesome, in it's own way.

Yes I love how shes so brave, which can be a flaw as well. She is ready to help anyone even strangers.

Rewatching for the umpteenth time, and thinking about Fi. She's strong and brave, and cares so much. But she's still a kid, and she's really kind of crap at realizing not everyone is like her. In "Banshee" she's all "don't you care?" about Molly and Colin. Then there's another time where she's like "why am I the only one in this family that cares" - and it's just ridiculous. It's obvious to anyone that's paying attention that Molly and Jack care. Even with them pulling the ostrich move, that they care is just so plain. But Fi gets so caught up in what she's thinking, what she's feeling, that she doesn't regard anyone else's feelings. She gets to thinking her way is the only way.
And, really you see that aspect in other regards, too. She just flat-out did not listen to James ("Tulpa") when he tried to tell her what was really going on. Jack's called her on it a couple of times - "Memory" and "Escape." She wasn't thinking about their feelings because she was caught up in her theories. That determined, forceful, and very focused nature of hers is an asset, but can be a detriment in interpersonal relations. That focus and determination can result in tunnel-vision.

Much as I wished there had been a season three with Fiona thinking back her leaving to stay with her aunt and her family was a good move. I think she was starting to become too much like her dad; and look where his dabbling took him. She really did need a "normal" life and realize not everything was WEIRD. Because at times she did take her gunhoe approach to the extreme. Don't get me wrong she was a great character! I'm okay in my headcanon later on dipping her toe back in the paranormal realm but she did need a break for a few years.

See, I think it was a cop-out because it doesn't address all the bad things she averted. Yes, she did get way too gung-ho sometimes. She was often inconsiderate because of that (Jack also very mean to her over her interests, so that's mutual). But she helped a lot of people - several times she saved people's lives. So now with her not doing it, more people suffer and die than otherwise would.

I wish there had been a way to protect her from the harm and evil she was warned about and was suppose to occur in season 3 without her losing the drive and desire to find the truth and in turn help people.
