I loved Jack as the caring no nonsense big brother. He was such an interesting character and sometimes I feel he doesn't get all the credit he deserves. The Changeling episode was really interesting to me because he finally talks a bit about his dad with the lullaby. I'm not sure if I'm remembering correctly or not but I like that he kind of echoed the older fans at the beginning of Annie with not liking her so much because she's not his sister but like Jack most people started to like her. It was kind of cool how they transitioned that (if my memory is working correctly). and just...Jacriu (Jack/bricriu) BROtp man.

Jack has always been my favorite character. He always tries to come up with a rational explanation, but you can just tell it's because he's afraid to believe in the supernatural because he has at least some recollection of how it impacted his father (Nightmare). I like to think that deep down he knows that something supernatural killed his father and that's why he doesn't want Fi to mess with it. I also love how he taunts and teases her, gets the sibling rivalry down pat but if she's ever in trouble, he'll come to her rescue. He doesn't exist solely as the annoying older brother or solely as the "voice of reason," he kind of does a bit of everything.

Yes! That exactly littleduck! He was a well layered character and was just brilliantly written. I agree that he probably knew there was something supernatural going on but like his mother tried to keep things rational. I feel he and Molly are really similar and Fi and Rick were similar. I like that there is that kind of balance with the characters. I always wanted an older brother when I was little and would have loved to have been Jack's little sister.

And since Rick is gone, I feel like Jack believes he is the "man of the family" and the ultimate protector of Molly and Fi. He has to be strong and the shoulder to cry on for Molly and Fi. And in the episode "Nightmare", we find out that his big fear is losing them both. And yeah probably like how Rick died. He also helps in trying to move on with life instead of staying stuck in grief. He is a good balance in the Phillips family.

And I feel like Molly sometimes tried to make him be a kid but it didn't work because he wanted to be strong for everyone. But he would get frustrated because Fi would be chasing after their dad and he is like "YOU DON'T EVEN REMEMBER HIM" and is trying to keep his own emotions in check and things. He really worked hard to keep them together while they were growing up and on the road. I think Jack kept everyone together.

Definitely all of the above. I feel like Jack's had to keep his feelings about his father more to himself though. Especially in Medium, where Molly and Fi are having their intense moment about how much Fi wants to remember Rick and how much Molly hates the memories... And then Jack's just listening in, by himself, looking like he's ready to cry because he remembers his father and it's not clear whether he wants to or not and in either case, nobody's asked him how he . Even in "Family Reunion" he seems so guarded, insisting that Fi and him are "good" when you can tell by the way his face falls that it's all a front to support his mom so she won't be so apprehensive about going on tour. He definitely keeps everyone together, but he has to bottle up his feelings to do it.

I LOVE Jack! He's one of my favorite characters and I agree so much with everything people are saying here. I love the few times when Jack lets his guard down and is emotionally there for Fi. Even though she irritates the ever-living heck out of him (as all siblings can) he always loves her and tries his best to protect her.
He's a good big brother, even if he doesn't believe in what she does. Despite his persistent skeptical POV, I love the scene in "Sacrifice" when he ATTEMPTS to contact Fi telepathically. That was such a cute scene, and I love that Fi was there to witness it.

Awwwwwwwwwww. I wonder what the Phillips family would be doing now. Like who would get married and have kids. I feel Jack would make a really great father.
