www.youtube.com/watch?v=iH9RxnfOdaAFound this opening on youtube! Apparently some country might have Widescreen versions of the episodes. We need to find out. (Yes, I checked some frames that were in previous openings, compared with the versions we have of S3 opening and it is legit)

We need to find how was the show called in different countries and see if any download links are available in that language. The youtube version is the Russian version "Чудеса.com". But all I found was a torrent link that's not downloading so far: filmix.me/download/60397But there could be other countries with widescreen versions.

. It's so much better quality than the other versions we have as well. I hope someone uncovers the rest.

I found the first season, they're not widescreen and you can only access/watch the videos with a Russian proxy (I use the Hola VPN extension for Chrome), and audio is Russian. It is pretty high quality compared to what we have, of what I've seen anyways... here is a link for anyone who wants to go through the trouble of watching it with a proxy. I am gonna see if I can find a way to download them then I'll post them here. Edit: I feel like I've tried literally everything to download the episodes but haven't been successful, probably because the site detects the proxy in use. Only thing I can think to do now is record it on the screen. Does anyone know of any good screen recorders? Also, if anyone wants to help, we can split the episodes to cut down on the time it would take to record all the episodes... that would be great. LOL 2nd Edit... I went through all the episodes available on that website.... they aren't all HD, but most of them are noticeably better than what we have. There are 7 missing episodes - Lost, Strange Geometry, Fall, Exit 13, Rewind, Annie's Song, and The River. The episodes are out of order from what we're used to... Drive is missing the first 5 minutes or so and Nightmare is extremely LQ and glitchy, but other than that, the episodes that are there are really good quality from what I've seen... which is really only a few minutes of each episode. I just really wanted to check on the quality.

That openning was widescreen tho. There Russian fan recordings might not be but there's surely a channel or something that aired them.

No, that wouldn't work because the videos are all in HTML5 and I looked at the coding and there's no link to put in any download sites. I looked everywhere for the widescreen versions, searching the Russian Google with a Russian proxy. I That was all I can find.
Interestingly, one year that keeps popping up is 2011. I think that's when SW aired in Russia, so you'd think there would be more widescreen versions based on that alone. Also to note, whenever I go to the website with all the eps without a proxy saying I'm in Russia, it won't let me play the episodes saying that the copyright owner won't allow the video to be played in my country, because of course...

We should start searching for other countries.

Don't know if you've noticed, but I've posted a link on the first season thread with good quality versions of all the bad quality episodes from seasons 1 and 2, except for James Garr. That includes good quality versions of Boo, Escape, Fountain, Blues, and a full good quality version of the first episode (with the missign 30 seconds). Those came from spanish versions of the episodes I managed to find on emule. Perhaps the russian versions are there? Don't know, but it took me many many months to get all the spanish versions episodes that way, and I'm not going through that again XD. Is there a russian version of James Garr with good quality? That would be amazing (I don't have time to help downloading those episodes right now; perhaps in january I'll have more time for that) (and I will sync the good quality spanish versions with the english audios, if no one else has by then). Also, I searched for french versions some time ago (there used to be french versions on emule a long time ago, of at least some episodes from the first season), but didn't manage to find anything. I believe the spanish versions I have (spain spanish, not latin american) are the only episodes that came out on tv (all season 1 and about half of season 2), so I don't think we'll be able to find others (at least I tried and couldn't). I've searched for latin american spanish, but the bad quality versions from youtube were the only ones I could find (managed to download the 2 hour mash-up of all the episodes from the first season back to back, before it got taken down; it's really bad quality though). Hope all this helps

So, this is something interesting I realized a little bit ago when I was looking for So Weird in different languages... I expected the translations to basically be just "So Weird" or maybe "Too Weird" in whatever other languages the syndicating country uses... turns out that is not the case.
The Russian,"Чудеса.com" translates to Miracles.com French - "Aux frontières de l'étrange" becomes "At the borders of the strange" Italian - "Storie incredibili" is "Incredible Stories" Spanish - "Fenómenos extraños" translates to "Strange Phenomena" Polish - "To niesamowite" is "It's Amazing" German - "Fiona's Website" ... doesn't need translation. IDK if this is legit because it's extremely hard to find German versions, but I'm gonna guess it is because I found these on IMDB, not wikipedia. And of course Portuguese - "Sinistro" translates to "Sinister"
Which is your favorite title? For me personally, I really fucking love "At the borders of the strange" because it is so beautifully fitting.

Something to keep in mind, IMDB's content is user created, not studio created, it is a glorified Wikipedia for movies. I remember when my page was hacked by internet trolls, quite an ordeal. Anyone can add or remove something on IMDB with little to no verification to determine if what is entered is factual.

AHA, found a way to download these Russian videos! With a lil' luck, I'll have 'um all up by tomorrow. : ) If anyone's wondering how it's done, I'm using Chrome with FoxyProxy Standard, taking a Russian proxy-- STARTING to load the episode... once the player's done loading a little, I can actually deactivate the proxy and run on my normal Internet, which is a lot faster. Then I use this skeezy-looking add-on: chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/stream-video-downloader/imkngaibigegepnlckfcbecjoilcjbhf/related It works on ANY kind of streaming I've tried on thus far, it's remarkable. It LOOKS like something that wouldn't work in a million years, but it really does. Currently have a few of the episodes downloaded, they're about 64mb each. : ) Huge thank you to JoaoR & thebossapplesauce ! EDIT: Weirdly enough, the FBDownloader plug-in is picking them up sometimes, too! ... ! EDIT 2: When downloaded through this app, it gives you the link it's downloading from, as well as the filename itself. For example: data13-cdn.datalock.ru/fi2lm/46fdf6c124ff8a02488eca05bcb7891e/7f_so.weird.08.tvrip-tv3.veryserg.a1.21.02.13.mp4Don't know if that'll continue to function as a link, but the name helped me find the original torrent, which looks to be nice quality! It has peers currently, but no seeds. : (

Awesome! I'm so glad someone found out a way to download the episodes off the Russian site! That version of Strangeling is literally the best I've seen, I think.
