So, I’m an amateur filmmaker and I was just thinking about how cool it would be to do a remake of the entire series. I think there are some really cool ideas in this show that are rushed a little because of the short format. It would be interesting to try and come up with an hour long episode for each one and flesh out the ideas a bit better.
This is just a concept. I in no way have an actual plan to do this, or the resources lol but just a fun idea I had!

Hi philsimmsjimnantz, I would actually agree having new episode of So Weird would be awesome!! It's cool to actually meet another person on here who's into film-making. I'm into that as well as animation!! I'm studying it at uni at the moment and having an awesome time at it. Having Hour Long episodes would be awesome to flesh out ideas is an ideal way to go, I've noticed with some shows like TNT'S The Librarians (P.S: Highly Recommend if you like So Weird!!) they start off with one concept that gets the audience thinking about one thing but then as the episode goes on it evolves into something else entirely!!! I love it when that happens Plus you're not the only one who has thought of bring So Weird back. I'm actually experimenting and developing ideas on how I can bring it back too!!! ^_^ I've been going through different ideas and formats like an Animation Series continuing the original show from Fi's departure perspective onwards, a doctor Who crossover with Jodie's 13th Doctor and even a comic/motion comic. It has been tricky trying to go with the right idea and it takes a loooooong time to get the ball rolling. So Weird is a story that deserves to be told and wrapped up the right way. Hat's off to the original production team on getting this project off the ground and on Disney and to all the other shows and movies! Anyway, being a filmmaker. Would you ever consider actually wanting to bring back the show, continuation or remake either way? I can always use help getting this project off the ground or even constructive feedback even. I actually have a post that goes into a bit more detail on what I have been thinking of here on the So Weird Board if you're interested. Here's the link for it: so-weird.proboards.com/thread/519/fan-project-weird-animated-series Hope this takes your interest as a fellow filmmaker or even as a So Weird Fan!

Cool to hear you’re studying film/animation! I got my degree in journalism, mostly cuz my school didn’t have a film program but I learned the same story telling and video techniques, just from a journalistic view. I actually make videos and podcasts for work now, so even if you don’t necessarily go into filmmaking with your degree, it’s very practical stuff you’re learning and can use it in most jobs! So good luck! Actually, this weekend I am filming a short film in 24 hours as part of a film challenge in my city. It’s gonna be tough and stressful but lots of fun! I would very much be interested in getting involved in that if something came out of it!

I would very much be interested in getting involved in that if something came out of it! Hey that's really Cool!!! Congrates on getting the degree and Good Luck with the Short Film on this upcoming weekend Hope it goes well I know the feeling all too well with feeling the pressure of working on projects under tight deadlines. So I can relate to that but there are fun to do all the same though so it's worth it. That bit with learning about the stuff that you want to do in a different Degree which is what I'm doing too as well. I tried to get into animation but didn't get in because I do 2D stuff and they wanted 3D students. So I went for the design course which is in the ballpark of what want to do and got into that which I'm happy with. ^_^ Just finished a study tour in Malaysia for the past two weeks which was the FIRST time I had gone overseas which was an amazing experience. So the degree has been a great choice so far. Looking forward to seeing what happens next and what other projects to get involved. As for the So Weird project, if you are interested (which is Great if you are) how would you feel on being a part of the story telling side of things? It seems that part is what I'm currently stuck with at the moment. :/ Trying to find the right story to give Fi's journey Justice.

I think a remake would be amazing. It'd be easier to deal with everything they wanted originally for the show and the story is honestly still good.

Congrates on winning the Award I've just watched it and for something that was done in just one day, it's an impressive piece of work and solid piece of storytelling. Hope it's the beginning of many more films to come for you!
