As Molly shoots a music video in an abandoned building, Fi discovers a portal to the spirit world and can't resist entering it.

My favorite episode!!! Fibonacci sequence. I feel like we all learned that from So Weird I love the creepy creepy faces in the walls. I also love the old mans story with his portals. An intriguing character. Fi is so brave here and, as always, selfless. Oh and this episode also includes my love for mysterious hidden small doors. hahaha .The ending is so sad too Fi finally finding out part of the truth about Rick

A creature there, in darkness lies. Why is it that he has my eyes?

I love this episode! Fi finally learns that she wasn't the only one who believed in the unexplainable. Fi's anger towards her mother for keeping her in the dark is so powerful.

I made my best friend watch this episode, and she wasn't terribly impressed She found it pretty boring, and not all that dark. She also didn't think Fi's anger toward Molly made a lot of sense since she didn't think it was that big of a deal that her dad was interested in the same thing as her. I don't agree with her opinion, but I found it interesting. What do you guys think?

It was incredibly important for Fi to learn that her father was just like her, that he saw the world the way she did. After all, her father was killed because of his interest in the paranormal. And everyone treats Fi like she's so different because of the way she sees the world. It was important to know that she wasn't alone in that. Even Rick's sister, in Strangeling, thought it was bogus of Molly not to have told Fi.

I agree with fallenconfessor on how very important it is to Fi. But as for her anger not making sense, kaleah, as your friend thought - emotion doesn't always make sense, and Fi does have a history of not seeing anyone else's point of view over her own pain (which is a very interesting character flaw). Another big place we see it is when Fi is in "Medium" saying "why am I the only one in this house that cares he's gone?" It's ridiculous. Jack suffers. Molly is in agony. And yet Fi is often completely oblivious to this. Her emotions drive her and often give her strength, but it's not uncommon tone-deaf to others' emotions ("Memory", "Tulpa", "Second Generation", etc.)

Given the context and name of the episode, I think they missed an opportunity to have Molly sing "This is the New Math". LOL.
