Completely random, but does Carey tick off anyone else's gaydar or is that totally me? I know a lot of people ship him with Molly, which while I see that, I don't ship it myself... and although I'm a lesbian, my gaydar just doesn't exist so it's always off... except for when I mistook that gay guy for a lesbian at the pool last summer, and Ellen Page. But that's another story. Basically, Carey has always come off as on the gay side to me, and I'm just wondering if I'm alone with that headcanon. XD

I could see him possibly being bisexual, but I think he was interested in the SheDaisy women. =P Do sirens have power over gay men?

I think they would! Sirens have power over gender, not necessarily who's attracted to them. If attraction were a part of it, there would also be lesbians going after sirens.

That's true. I'm not really familiar with the mythology, obviously. Haha. But yeah, I think he could be bisexual. I guess he never had a lot of luck with girls, though, as indicated in "Fountain," so maybe they knew something about him he didn't.

I never thought about it before, but now I'm suddenly craving a fanfiction in which Carey is the one who discovers Molly's muse (the one who really turned out to be Jack's muse but for the sake of this story would be Molly's) and the muse falls in love with him and Carey has this crisis where he's not sure if it's Molly he's love with or her muse.

LOL! That would be an awesome story. If I was better with writing general SW fanfic rather than Annie/Fi future fluff/sexy stuff, I'd probably consider giving it a shot. XD

Today I read this tidbit off a list of things Banned from Disney about Eric Lively's sister, Blake: My first thought was that I could completely picture Carey talking Clu or Fi into this. He always was such a ~great~ role model.

Haha, wow! I've never heard about that trick. How did they catch them, I wonder?

Okay, time to talk about Carey now. I was recently thinking, as I did a rewatch, that Carey becomes surprisingly active in calling out weirdness. When we start in "Siren" he's dismissive of it - but he was under the influence. By "Mutiny" he ends up taking the "I don't, maybe, possibly" track. Like Clu, he's always willing to follow along, but unlike Clu (as far I can recall, please let me know if you remember otherwise), Carey actually takes to noticing the weirdness himself. In " " he's the first to notice the vegetable faces, and he's persistent about it. Going to Fi, of course, because she's the one most likely to listen. I don't watch S3 as much, but he IIRC, he does the same at least twice in that season. If my memory is right, he was the first one to bring up the weirdness of the other kids' behavior in "Banglebye" - not certain, but I think that's right. And again in "Rewind" he was the one to notice the dead album graveyard or whatever he called it and then told Annie not to start singing until he got back with Molly, right? So I think Carey has come be aware of strangeness and to actually pay attention and notice things himself. And that's just interesting to me. How being with Fi, being exposed to these things, changes his perspective, yes, but also how he's active in initiating the process instead of just following Fi or Annie. Not as active as either o them, I'll grant you, but still not just a follower.

For some reason, I feel like the writers didn't put much into his characterization compared to everyone else.

Yeah, but age doesn't work so well when none of the real adults will deal with the weirdness.

I wish there was a way to combine together the season two and season three personalities of Carey; because there was a difference. Season two he came off as more suave confident and ready to tackle the world. At least that's how I remembering it... And in season three his role took a slight backseat and came more of the comic relief or he simply was just there for no reason given; which works for the Carey/Molly aspect :-) but besides that it was just weird. Other then that I have always liked his character just always felt the writers could have done more with him.
