Hi, I'm Summer I watched So Weird as a kid when it was on the Disney Channel I was a fan and also vividly remembered Fi's ring Once when I was a kid, I found a ring that really reminded me of the one from the show so I got it and it's been one of my favourite pieces of jewelry ever since However, I totally/seemingly forgot about what it initially reminded me of until just the other day I remembered and decided to look the show up again and have found this site I'm glad to see its following is still prevalent because it's good to see that others still remember the show as well Recently, I find that I can relate to the show as an adult in that I no longer live in a typical home of my own like I did as a kid, so the moving around and living like a gypsy of sorts rings familiar to me now However, it's good to still carry the notion of home with you and since So Weird was a small part of my childhood, I do feel somewhat nostalgic about it, not just because of the show itself but like a song from the late 90s-early 2000s, seeing/remembering it does take me back to an earlier time and it was a sweet show Also, I'm a big music fan, so there's that connection too
Anyways, just wanted to say hi
P.S.
o I forgot to mention; I saw Erik Von Detten once; I can't remember the year though, it must have been some time between 2004-2005 maybe, probably because Mel Gibson orchestrated some high school tour/visit for the cast of Complete Savages-- basically a 'hey everyone, stay in school' type of thing...

Hello Summer! So glad you joined the forum! Yes there are many fans who still LOVE the show (and desperately wishes for DVD releases). YES! Fi's ring is so awesome! And rewatching the show when you're older is like a whole new experience because you realize just how sad a lot of the themes are and can better understand the whole storyline.
oh WOW that's so awesome you got to see him! ^.^

Hey krazyshedee; yeah, I remember him talking the most since he was the only one out of the three male cast members that I actually knew about. He was really nice, although I'm not so sure how much people appreciated the visit because I got the sense that some thought it was slightly condescending or something but I liked it- I remember he said something like 'it sucks when we're hanging out while filming on set and then [insert fellow cast member] gets called away for tutoring or to do school work but just know that this isn't your whole life [and] it won't always be this way so just stick with it and it'll be worth it' or something like that--- I personally don't think it was condescending, mainly because I liked the message and encouragement/support as a student; in fact, I think what he said then is still a wise thing for me to remember now/currently so it was nice/good to hear coming from E.V.D.

Welcome, Summer! Very cool that you met Erik. I had a big crush on him and Patrick when I was younger. Haha.

Thanks Rockerbaby, same here lol. Well, I didn't actually get to personally meet Erik (my friend did though, for like 2 seconds and got to take a quick picture with him because she was close to who was escorting them out) but I saw him in person and heard him speak at school. I remember thinking Erik was rad in the Disney movie Brink! Patrick, looking back at the episodes, I can appreciate more now... He was also funny and did a fantastic job on So Weird, as did everyone else on the show. Sometimes I find that Patrick reminds me a bit of a young Tom Hanks... maybe it's the hair and the voice a little at times. Too bad I didn't snap a picture of Erik that day (I don't think) but I believe I took one of their limo lol that would tell me what day it was too.. since I forgot. I also remember the local news or some car with a picture of Hilary Duff printed on it I think showed up that day too--- and I'm assuming it was because of them.
E.T.A. I just looked it up online and it was in October, 2004

Sometimes I find that Patrick reminds me a bit of a young Tom Hanks... maybe it's the hair and the voice a little at times. It's so funny that you say that because (I don't know if you know this or not but) Patrick's first big acting role was as young Josh in the Broadway version of Big! Spot on. That's still really cool that you saw Erik! I can't remember an entertainment celebrity ever coming to my school. Bill Clinton visited once, though.

Hey, Summer! So glad you're joining us-- it's always great to see more fans remember So Weird. It really doesn't get enough recognition. And that story about Erik von Detten coming to your school is SO AWESOME. I didn't know he ever did stuff like that and it's really cool that whatever he said resonated with you and you still remember it.
