While viewing the ghost lights of Marfa, a mischievous will o' the wisp takes over Jack's body and freezes time leaving Fi to decipher the riddle of his name or the creature will inhabit Jack's body permanently.

Patrick was definitely AMAZING in this episode. I wish we'd gotten to see more of that later because whenever Bricriu made an appearance you knew it was going to be a good episode. I liked the way they set up the Nexus. Frozen time was so cool looking.

I would have loved to see Jack Bricriu again. I thought Molly's was great too but I feel the Jack version has an edge for me. So many things could have happened if not for.... Disney.

Same Crod. I thogh Molly Bricriu was also funny but there was something about Jack's that was special.

This was the very 1st episode of the show I saw believe it or not, and it's one of my highest-rated favorites, followed by Lightning Rod where Bricriu makes another appearence as himself. I love him in Jack's body and as himself in wisp form. He's just the BEST.

Reading the information about "Mirror" in the Jon Cooksey stuff thread made me wonder about this episode.
Do you all think that Bricriu would have really let Fi speak to her father if she turned off the machine, or was just saying that because he was desperate? We know that Bricriu is a trickster, so he probably could have weaseled his way out of it, but maybe not?
Do you think he even has the capabilities of summoning Rick? We know that Bricriu can stop time and stuff in the mortal world, but how powerful is he really? Can he pull someone out of the spirit world just as he (or at least "we", as he said in Destiny) pulled Rick out of the mortal world?

I've always thought of Bricriu as a trickster so I don't think he was making an honest bargain. My guess is if Fi had taken that deal, he would have conjured up a fake-Rick (like the old lady in the rocking chair) and Fi would be all "Daddy!" and start talking to him for a minute before she realizes it isn't really him and then Bricriu would reply something like "The deal was I let you speak to your father. Never said he could speak back!" and with a pop, fake-Rick would vanish, Bricriu would laugh and Fiona would go back to the bus and cry. The end.
I would think that Bricriu does have the power to pull someone out of the spirit world since he pulled Rick from the mortal one, but it might be tied to the forces he was working for and I imagine those forces would have done anything they could to keep that door closed.

That's hilarious. Oh my god, now I'm imagining the episode ending like that as a prank or something. That would have been amazing.
I wonder if Fi would have eventually been able to pull Bricriu over to the "good team" so that he could fight back against the powers that he seemed to be so afraid of. I'd like to think yes, but maybe that's just the Ficriu talking in me.

I think that was the original plan all along-- for Bricriu to change sides and help Fi out because his bosses didn't have a sense of humor. But I'm sure they could have used Fi's promise of presidency as a bargaining chip to get him on her side

Rick is trapped somewhere in the Nexus, right? Maybe Bricriu would take Fi to her father and... leave her there.

He might be a liar (not fat, though LOL) but when it comes to deals, he honors them. He really isn't a fan of the spirit world, and I do think he grew a fondness for Fi. Plus, he wanted to be president to rule over the mortal world separate from the spirit world. I do believe the deal was legit, if it meant, he can stay in Jack's body and become president.
