Hello, everyone! I'm new. I discovered this board the other day and learned of the original season three ideas and couldn't help but feel so disappointed at the change in the story arc for the season presented. I just sent an e-mail to Disney's corporate e-mail address. Here's what it said. (I took my name out because I'm private lol)
To Whom It May Concern:
In the wake of revivals such as Girl Meets World and Raven’s Home, as well as mentions of old shows such as Lizzie McGuire concerning Disney’s upcoming streaming service, one classic series that rarely gets mentioned is So Weird. This series still has a faithful following as evidenced by fan pages across the web. It was a pioneer in creating a science fiction series for the younger generation. Many fans had been disheartened when the show took a turn from its established arc during its third season to move away from the darker tone that was becoming apparent. Disappointment was even greater when fans were presented with the original plans for season three, which would have paid off many plot points established during the show’s first two seasons. This letter is to present an option to do right by those fans who have maintained their love of the show over the past two decades.
With Disney’s recent acquisition of Fox properties including FX channel, I am proposing a continuation of the series through that outlet. It would allow the show to pick up on those previously established plot points and continue the show with the creators’ original ideas in mind. It would also allow Disney to compete with other supernatural investigation shows like the CW’s Supernatural and NBC’s Grimm, as well as the upcoming revival of The X-Files. The show could present a grown-up Fiona Phillips who is pulled back into the world of the unexplained, continuing her journey to find her dad in the spirit world. With the characters all being two decades older, roles could all be recast, and it isn’t necessary for the entire original cast to be on board for a revival. Also, promotional sales of the original three seasons on DVD and through streaming outlets would increase revenue as well as answer the prayers of many fans who’ve been holding out for years for such a thing to occur.
While I understand this is a long shot and that Disney doesn’t often take the ideas of the general public into consideration, I also know that with a whole new network, Disney will need to create all new content with a more adult audience in mind, and I hope that this idea may help Disney to provide that content.
Best Wishes,
