(Hi gang! Posted most of this in a message over on Facebook, but I'm pasting it here too for relevancy lol)
Hi team! I just want to say that I'm floored that this community is still around and kicking. I was a B I G fan of So Weird back in the day, and was one of those girls who created fanfictions (and yes, I had a Mary Sue LoL such cringe!). For those who remember what Yahoo! Groups were, I was even a member of like, every So Weird group back in the day LoL Good times, good times. I believe a big part of the reason why I got hooked to the show is due to the fact that I I was a major X-Phile, so a watered-down version that wasn't afraid to go there and address grown-up themes got my attention.
I always find myself returning to the series because it was around this time of year back in 2011 that my best friend of 15 years passed away. After finding the series, I introduced it to her, which led to us watching and records eps together - if we missed any, we'd trade tapes LoL Anyway, I'm sure you guys hear this a lot, but the song "Rebecca"still moves me to this day. With the passing of my friend, it holds a stronger context that I wish I didn't have to go through given that the most important person to me outside of members of my family is no longer here. But there's a melancholic beauty about the song that helps me cope, and I hope someday to cover it in her memory.
Anyway, sorry to ramble! I'm just really happy to see this page and that the series is still remembered in such a devoted way. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to chiming in now and then.
P.S. Carey is bae ♥

Welcome to the forum! Always good to have someone involved in the So Weird fandom back in the day join us.
"Rebecca" is my favorite episode. I'd never really considered how the song could also be interpreted from the perspective of someone whose friend has passed away. Thank you for sharing your story.
