This is actually a theory I came up with several rewatches ago! If you watch the scene in Banshee where Fi is looking into the light (or Death or whatever...), Fi's face fades in from a photo of her great grandmother. We know Jack fading into the knight's armor was in as an intentional clue to his past life as a knight... so, logically speaking, it's not too far out to think maybe Fi is the original Fiona, reborn. That is such good reasoning, I totally didn't even think about that! I remember Jon Cooksey talked about how Jack allowed himself to be reincarnated as Fi's brother. I always wondered if Fi has also been on her journey for a long time, even before the original grandma Fiona. It is possible. The Celtic druids had a firm belief that the soul does not die and simply passes from one body to another when the human body dies. Pretty much as witnessed in James Garr.

Jon Cooksey sent me the original script for this episode, which had a different ending. The script is posted and being discussed here. There is a bit of e-mailing between Gabe & Jack, in the aired version of the episode, BUT I REALLY like the conversation in the original script of Jack talking to their grandmother about Gabe and even having the Angel necklace around which doesn't re-appear until like S2E18 "James Garr" and then again in S2E22 "Vampire". So would've loved that conversation Proof that Jon Cooksey & Ali Marie Matheson KNOW what they're doing
