Jon Cooksey sent me the original script for this episode, which had a different ending. The script is posted and being discussed here.

I don't know if it's been covered before (I can't find it anywhere) but does anyone know what the family crest from this episode says in Irish or what it translates to in English. The camera didn't zoom enough for me to be able to read it. Thanks!

I can't remember if Jon Cooksey mentioned that in his FAQ or not. Anyone else know?
Also, hi! Welcome to the site.

Has it ever been answered where Fi's grandparents live? I feel like it's Maine, but I don't know and am curious. XD

The script of "Banshee" says that it's on the outskirts of Philadelphia. I don't think it's mentioned in the episode, but it's written in the description of the outside shot of the house.

I noticed something about the ring that I've been wanting to post here on the forum for some time now.
In the original script for Banshee, Fiona offered some years of her life for her grandfather to live. And in the episode as Fi is in midair The ring glares a bright blue as does Molly's and when it's all done and after the Banahee says "Your grandfather will not die... For now" Fiona is laying on the ground and she is freezing. Which I believe is due to her giving up some of her life for her grandfather. Same with when the ring glares a light blue.

I mentioned to Jon Cooksey that the rings lighting up confused me whenever I saw the episode and all he said was that the final script wasn't as good because they had to make changes. Now when I watch the episode, I just imagine that the original ending happened because the episode still confuses me, haha.

I think I'll just go with my headcanon I made there. Lolol

I always thought it was just a cool way to transition between scenes and possibly to show the bloodline connection between Molly and Fi since Fi was in (I thought) Molly's ancestor's castle -shrugs-

I have a few thoughts about this episode. First, Jack and Gabe? Anyone else read his email to Gabe? He shares his fears, his vulnerabilities with her. Which is I think is a really good thing for him. Because we know that he generally puts on a strong face with Molly and Fi (that heartbreaking scene from "Medium" ..aww). Gabe is someone he doesn't have to have that pretense with, at least not regarding his family. Fi is scared about Grandpa, so he tells her it's nothing so as not to worry her more (not really a successful course of action), but with Gabe he can tell her he's scared, admit it openly. Plus there's the original script line about passing the angel on to grandchildren. Secondly, there's all the O'Shannon backstory. And O'Shannon was grandma's maiden name right? But her mother seems to have been of the O'Shannon bloodline, not just married in? Cousin marriage, grandma illegitimate, or have I just misremembered the details? The banshee says she's met Fiona before. Fi presumes the banshee is thinking of her great grandmother, but the banshee says she knows who Fi is. So, has she met Fi before? Is time travel in her future? Ideas? Lastly, one really interesting part I didn't really think about until my most recent viewing. Colin says Molly isn't a fighter. He's right. She's not. Rick was fighter; Molly would have rather buried her head in the sand, and kept her family safe (or, safe for the time being - but the safety is really only an illusion, long-term). Fi is a fighter. The things that terrify others don't scare her as badly. And even when she is scared, it doesn't stop her. John called it "brave" though we can admit sometimes "reckless" might be a better description. Anyway, it's just a dichotomy between Molly and Fi that I had never thought of using that vocabulary. One a fighter, one not.
