He elaborates further about where he got the list here and here.
It's a little confusing, to be honest, but this guy has previously had insider information about various Disney projects on his now shut down website so we do have hope!

REALLY holding out hope that it's for reals. It kind of blows me away, since none of the other obscure Disney Channel shows appear on the list-- like, we're not getting any Famous Jett Jackson or The Jersey or even original Bug Juice! I mean, we're not even getting THE PROUD FAMILY, though we're getting The Proud Family Movie. So-- it would really blow me away if they were really & truly PRIORITIZING So Weird. Like, wow. Be still my heart.

We are justified in not believing it can happen LOL. Of all shows! It's becoming more likely but I want picture proof or a confirmed list by Disney themselves.

I mean, even tho it's fanbase is small, So Weird might be the only one that people do still care about. There's the podcast out there, we're still after soundtracks and episodes in better quality, it keeps being uploaded to youtube (and sometimes taken down, so Disney is at least slightly aware).

Jon Cooksey has tweeted out that So Weird is going to be on Disney+! One of the So Weird podcast hosts asked him if he had heard anything via e-mail and he said he had checked with a "trusted source" who confirmed the show will be on Disney+. WHO'S EXCITED?

Be still my heart. I wonder if they are including So Weird as a test, because the fanbase is more prominent than others. They know people are out there campaigning for this show. If So Weird premieres to good numbers, Disney may take that as a sign to add more Zoog Disney content. They may also hold back some content on purpose. They need to think of the people signing up for "ONLY" this show or that movie, and figure out how to keep them coming back for more. It might be worth campaigning for shows like The Jersey and Famous Jett Jackson once the platform is released. Personally I loved The Jersey too, it was the second show I looked for on the list after So Weird. You can't even find the whole series ANYWHERE online. I would totally join a campaign! Anyway, SO EXCITED this is (most likely) happening! I'm one of those skeptics who won't 100% believe it until the actual premiere date, despite all the evidence. Jon Cooksey getting confirmation from a source, and the residual check situation, are pretty convincing sources though. Still, I'm waiting for confirmation the day of before I let Disney take my money! The very idea of watching high-quality episodes of So Weird after years of taped copies...agreed, be still my heart!

I actually did some research after reading a comment on the announcement video on youtube... I am pretty sure The Jersey, The Famous Jett Jackson, and In A Heartbeat won't be coming on Disney+ for the time being because of licensing issues. All three of those zoog era shows were co-produced by production companies that aren't apart of Disney's monopoly. So Weird, on the other hand, was co-produced by production companies owned by Henry Winkler and Larry Sugar, I believe both of whom are credited as executive producers and show creators... it makes sense that they would approve of So Weird going on if Disney came to them and asked, we know how passionate everyone behind the show still is.

In a way, that begs the question - why can't we find The Jersey online at all? Arguably the production company would be less diligent than Disney? Unless Disney still has some of the rights. I always kind of wondered if the numerous athletes on the show had something to do with it, especially if any had bad press over the years. Then again maybe there just isn't enough interest for someone to track down every episode and post online. Maybe (most likely) I'm biased, but I feel like we're way more passionate about So Weird than fans are for other Zoog shows. I haven't seen any active fandoms for them, at least. I don't believe they aged nearly as well, plus So Weird fans hold an eternal grudge over the dropped story lines...or I do, anyway... But if enough people campaign, who knows? Both sides might be encouraged to strike a deal.

Yeah, that is my own theory... that So Weird just sticks out because it's stood the test of time and the little fanbase it had while it was airing are just as passionate about it now as they were then, if not moreso. In general, I just feel like it went the extra mile to make an impact on the kids watching with the story lines we would only truly understand when we've grown a little. I personally watched all three - So Weird, The Jersey and The Famous Jett Jackson... and I can tell you right now that I literally don't remember a single plot or anything about the latter two, but the story arches of So Weird literally stayed in my head for years after it was off the air. Not only that, but specific scenes and characters and songs. There was a special kind of love that went into the making of the show and it shines through... it's rare to find a show quite like that.

Agreed, there's no other Disney Channel show like it. It reached fans on a level that very few other childhood shows did. Twenty years later I named an original character after Fiona, and some of my novel (not yet published) was influenced by So Weird. I circle back to this show and rewatch every few years. Right now I'm waiting for the Disney Plus release for my next marathon. If Disney fails us again, I will watch it online and cry!

Well I made some research and that´s what I found, this is more complex than it seems: THE JERSEY: The TV SHOW was produced by Lynch Entertainment and byt Thinkfilm (that was closed for good in 2010) only for the Washington DC scenes. Disney Channel was the only enterprise that showed interest in airing the series so it was called a DC Original but in fact Disney was only a distributor. They can make a contract but since Disney wants to have a permanent catalog they would have to pay a lot for The Jersey being there permanently. THE FAMOUS JETT JACKSON: Here´s a complex case, so Disney was also only a distributor, and they lost the rights back in 2011. Now the rights are with DHX Media (in Canada), that owns some channels in Canada which includes "Family Channel" the canadian channel that was a Disney partner back then and today still makes some exchanges with Disney (for some of them tv shows being distributed internationally on international disney channels), and produced some original shows in Canada that aired on Disney both in USA and internationally (Life With Derek, Naturally Sadie and others). I went to their Website and Jett Jackson is owned by them and appears on their portfolio: postimg.cc/WdYwNVWkThey can make a deal with Disney again, because they sell to other channels on the globe but since Family Channel has its own app and they can have the smart move of adding the show there,or even if they don´t they´re a big label so maybe we won´t see The Famous Jett Jackson on Disney+. IN A HEARTBEAT: This one becomes even more complex (believe me), this one was produced also by Family Channel but while Jett Jackson wasn´t produced by Disney at all, In a Heartbeat was produced by them in association with Family Channel. From what I could get Disney lost the rights or sold their part (that probably wasn´t 50/50, they probably owned a few % of the show) back in 2005, and it also appears nowadays on the Familly Channel portfolio: postimg.cc/Dm2ZfXttThis one might have a chance since Disney produced the series, and wasn´t only a distributor so, making a deal on this one would be easier. Surprisingly shows that were only made by Family Channel (Life With Derek and Naturally Sadie) are not with them anymore, maybe they kept Jett Jackson and In a Heartbeat and gave those last 2 to disney. Since they were bought by this DXH Media in 2013 and some of their content was sold, and other part kept. The fact is that those 2 don´t appear there anymore. AND WHY I´M EXPLAINING ALL OF THIS? BECAUSE NOW WE´RE GOING TO SEE WHAT´S THE CASE OF SO WEIRD: First we need to understand that Even Stevens was the first Disney Channel show (and that´s why the older ones aren´t that much remembered by Disney) because Even Stevens in fact was the first TV Show that Disney Channel produced 100%. Disney produced So Weird but was more a kind of second part producer if I´m explaining this well. Let´s say that it´s the case of In a Heartbeat, but unlike that, Disney never sold their rights for So Weird, they kept it. But this is complex because So Weird has many production companies. 1. - Fair Dinkum Productions (This company isn´t active since 2004, so I believe that making an agreement with them was easy). 2. - Sugar Entertainment (It´s no longer active and stopped making content in 2001) 3. - No Equal (They produced the 3 season even if on their website they mention all of the 65 episodes, and they also mention that the TV Show is from Disney). So, since the list appears to be true, I think we can say, once all the others now belong to Family Channel that is very active in Canada, and So Weird was made by small companies partnering with Disney I truly believe it was cheaper and Disney bought the full rights to it. So now it´ll be on DISNEY+ and maybe it ars again on Tv in some countries that don´t have Disney+ yet.

Thank you so much, rikylous14! That explains so much that we've been wondering about for years. I don't know why we never looked closer at the production companies for the shows surrounding So Weird. Maybe this is part of the reason why So Weird and earlier shows never made it onto TBTonDC.
