Sabrina the Teenage Witch was also produced and created by ABC. Like BMW, it was also in the TGIF block on ABC. But I've never seen Sabrina described as a "Disney show" or Disney channel original the way BMW is. I wonder if they're claiming ownership because Girl Meets World *was* a Disney channel original and they're doing it for consistency?

I feel like that probably has a lot to do with it. Fans of Girl Meets World will look for Boy Meets World. But didn't Disney move Boy Meets World over to Disney Channel at some point? I remember them airing episodes and later generation fans thinking BMW was a Disney Channel show. Between that, and the production being done in-house, I can see them putting the "Disney's" label on it.

Following what you said, Disney+ probably has it set up for fans of BMW who might want to see GMW too. I believe Emily said that Boy Meets World was only aired on the channel as syndication. I don't know if that was after the series ended or if new eps were airing on ABC while reruns were simultaneously on Disney channel.

To clarify Boy Meets World:
Disney owns Touchstone Pictures that made movies like: Pretty Woman, 10 Things I Hate About You ... basically when Disney wanted to create adult ot more graphic movies they used Touchstone. But Touchstone had a division called Touchstone Television, and this was the main producing company. But the series isn´t disney, the DVD´s were released by Lionsgate. The show lasted from 1993-2000, and only in 2000 it started to air in the US. So being short, it means that Disney owns it but it´s not a Disney Channel Original Show , as someone said Even Stevens was the first fully produced show by Disney

The whole production company situation might explain why it doesn't have the word "Disney" on its cover image but I don't think that's an excuse for why this show is not listed as a series in the Disney Channel collection. It was referred to as a Disney Channel original series here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here and I doubt Henry Winkler and Larry Sugar ever complained about that.
I am kind of glad it's not in the category because I imagine parents might get upset about that (heard a lot of people complaining about the new AYAOTD series airing on Nick), but I wish it was in more lists than it is currently and easier for people to stumble upon. 90s Throwbacks, Throwbacks, Beasts and Monsters could all apply.

Earlier in the thread, I commented that So Weird wasn't showing up as a recommended show for any other titles on Disney+. Last night, however, I saw that it appeared in the "Because you watched Boy Meets World" section on my homepage!

It's genuinely strange to be watching this show with crystal-clear audio/visual lol. I'm a child again!

In addition to the Disney through the Decades Collection and the Disney Channel collection, So Weird is now part of the Throwbacks Collection on Disney+! Another way for people to re/discover So Weird.
